Sadly on Monday 29th March, after battling for 5 years, Bruce passed away. He spent the evening before at home with Annabel and his two beloved children, smiling, playing and chatting. To the very end he never let go of his positive attitude, and we all know he still watches over his family with a smile.

Bruce Sewell, and Annabel Hobbs met in 1986 whilst at school. They married in 2002 and in 2004 Noah arrived into their world, a beautiful baby boy. It appeared life couldn’t be more perfect.

However by the end of that year, Bruce’s agility began to falter. Within 14 months he was unable to walk without the aid of sticks. His speech and swallowing was seriously affected and even picking up Noah had become a challenge.

In April 2005 he was diagnosed with Motor Neuron Disease. An illness classified as terminal. 50% of people die within 14 months of diagnosis. A further 45% die within 5 years. Bruce has now reached that 5 year mile stone and although life is difficult is determined to go on and beat this cruel disease.

In 2007, Henry arrived to join the family.

The Road2Hope campaign is raising sponsorship for Bruce and his family while also increasing awareness about the cruel and frustrating impact of Motor Neurone Disease.
